Buy the screen, not the features you don't need... ,posted December 31, 1969
Reviewer: Remi from Coal City, Illinois I purchased this screen because it was a way to get the Sony name without getting speakers I don't need (I use my home theatre surround sound) and a tuner I don't need (I use my cable box). The styling might be a tad industrial for some tastes but I like it just fine. The picture is stunningly beautiful.
If you purchase it, be sure to get the proper cables (it doesn't use traditional component video rca plugged cables or even bnc connectors but rather the same 15-pin connector many computer monitors use and you need the cable to break it out to the component video rca connectors). I purchased my screen at Plasmabay.com and the helpful salesman had the cables in stock. Let me say it again, the picture (the thing you're actually buying) is stunningly beautiful
One of the best 50" Plasma out there! ,posted December 31, 1969
Reviewer: Airvae from Chicago, Illinois The ultimate test of all plasma TV's is how well they show when they are actually tested for video or computer image quality. Forget the native pixel resolution, the built in converter/scalar, the sometimes-unrealistic contrast ratio listed by the manufacturer. The manufacturer that wants to sell their product provides the specifications. Comparing TV's of any kind side by side with the same input signal playing the same video material at the same moment is the best way to truly understand how the signal information is received, converted and shown to the naked eye. With plasma display monitors the differences are sometimes much more pronounced than with other types of televisions.
